Training and skill development

Leadership opportunities

  • Manitoba Young Farmers Conference (KAP Young Farmers) is an annual conference to bring together young farmers from across the province and learn about various farm management topics. It’s an opportunity to learn, connect with fellow producers and share experiences.
  • Canadian Young Farmers’ Forum leading young agriculture producers across Canada to provide support, encouragement and resources to promote agriculture.
  • Cattlemen’s Young Leaders Program provides a combination of formal and informal opportunities to learn from existing beef cattle industry leaders and other youth organizations undertaking mentorship opportunities. 

Financing

  • MASC Bridging Generations Initiatives:
    • Young Farmer Rebate (YFR) assists young and beginning farmers to develop or expand their farming operations. As an eligible young farmer, the YFR offers an annual rebate of your total loan principal, and is available in each year of a loan's first five years.
    • Flexible Financing to young farmers (18-39 years of age) can assist through the critical purchase and start-up period of farm operations. Eligible young farmes can opt for either 90 per cent financing or five years of interest-only payments.
