One Health
One Health is an interdisciplinary collaborative approach to solving complex health problems through recognizing the inherent interdependence of human, animal and ecosystem health. The One Health framework has been applied by governments, academics and non-profit organizations from the local community level to the Global arena.
In Manitoba, a One Health Steering Committee has been established since 2012. This committee serves to connect different departments working on shared goals, including food safety, human and animal well-being and zoonotic disease control such as the Provincial Rabies Program.
Representatives from the departments of Agriculture, Health, and Environment, Climate and Parks, work together using the holistic One Health approach to link animal, human and environmental health.

This conference was hosted in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and gathered stakeholders together including subject matter experts and policy-makers from government, academia, non-governmental organizations, as well as the private sector.
This event was used to help set the local and international stage for future activities in this increasingly important field.
