Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Calls for Justice

The MMIWG Calls for Justice were developed with responses shared by more than 2,380 family members of victims, survivors of violence, experts, Elders and Knowledge Keepers across Canada. In total, 231 Calls for Justice were developed by the MMIWG National Inquiry, with a final report issued in 2019. Many of the Calls relate to providing increased resources toward health, wellness and opportunities for Indigenous women, girls and LGBTQ2SIA+ persons. ISB will offer health and wellness resources to Justice staff through our Spiritual Care Givers, ensuring that Indigenous women, girls and LGBTQ2SIA+ people have the support they need in the workplace. Additionally, we will develop strategies for Indigenous recruitment and retention and enhance mentorship to provide Indigenous women, girls and LGBTQ2SIA+ people with opportunities to advance their career.
